Jeff Smith and John Munday were a little surprised when they came across each other on a rugby pitch at the recent RICS v Lloyds of London rugby match. Jeff was captaining the surveying elite, while John was in his familiar role as referee. Many who were unaware of the connection, commented on the unusual banter between the pair throughout the game. Lloyds players were incredulous as to how Jeff had not ended up in the sin bin for continually collapsing the scrum under the pressure of their drives. Those of us who knew the circumstances knew that there was a Partners meeting the following day...!
